International Women’s Day 2018

I know this is a day late, but I thought it was still VERY well worth talking about the International Women’s Day that occurred yesterday. Celebrating women should be something that takes place every day, not just once a year. That being said, it was simply invigorating to see women all over the world raise their voices to support each other and raise awareness for the gaps that still exist in our society.

There is little else I love more than seeing women support women.

As a way to really acknowledge all the ladiez (yes, the “z” was intentional), I thought it would be a nice idea to do a little roundup of some of the most powerful, inspiring and life-changing quotes from some of the Power Women all over the world.

“My philosophy is that not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.” -- Oprah Winfrey

“One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes… and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility.” -- Eleanor Roosevelt, former First Lady

“We are not interested in the possibilities of defeat; they do not exist.” -- Queen Victoria, Former Queen of the United Kingdom

“The way to achieve your own success is to be willing to help somebody else get it first.” -- Iyanla Vanzant

“I just love bossy women. I could be around them all day. To me, bossy is not a pejorative term at all. It means somebody’s passionate and engaged and ambitious and doesn’t mind leading.” -- Amy Poehler, actress

“Don’t waste a single second. Just move forward as fast as you can, and go for it.” -- Rebecca Woodcock

“I never dreamed about success. I worked for it.” -- Estée Lauder

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.” -- Helen Keller, author

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” -- Margaret Mead, cultural anthropologist

Think about these as you go about your day, your gym session, your life…
